France-based Altice moves to Plano
One of the world's largest telecommunications companies is bringing hundreds of jobs to Texas and growing a large operation in Plano.
Altice USA — the North American subsidiary of a France-based telecommunications, media and entertainment conglomerate — plans to locate a 400-person office near the southeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and State Highway 121.
"We have been a longtime employer in Texas," said Altice USA senior vice president Lisa Anselmo. "We really look forward to expanding our presence in this new facility.
"We plan to move into the new office in the third quarter."
Altice USA is renting almost 80,000 square feet of office space on three floors of the Granite Park V office tower. The company plans to spend more than $5 million outfitting the office.
And Plano plans to offer up to $210,000 in economic incentives to help the firm with its new North Texas facility.
Altice USA is a video and broadband services provider with 4.9 million residential and business customers in 21 states.
Its subsidiaries include New York-based Cablevision and Suddenlink, which was previously headquartered in St. Louis.
Altice USA plans to keep its headquarters in New York. In Texas, the company has offices in Tyler and Lubbock.
The company also has a small temporary office on the tollway in Plano south of Legacy business park that's about 6,500 square feet.
Anselmo said the new Granite Park office will handle a variety of functions, including payroll, IT and business services. "It is a wide range of positions," she said.
Altice USA is already advertising to fill new sales, management, software developer and programmer and data analysis jobs in Plano.
Altice USA recently made a filing for an initial public stock offering that would raise about $100 million. The company said in the filings that it plans to expand its U.S. operation.
"Texas is a very important market for us," Anselmo said. "We've expanded our broadband service and announced a five-year plan to upgrade our fiber network in Texas."
Altice USA's new Plano office is just across the street from the $3 billion Legacy West development, which is the new home for companies including Toyota, Liberty Mutual Insurance, JPMorgan Chase, FedEx Office and Boeing.
"It's a vibrant community, and our employees are excited about it," Anselmo said.
